‘ROUND THE MOUNTAIN AUTUMN MARKET, FUNDRAISER FOR EMPLOYEE TO BE HELD AT THE SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA CULTURAL CENTER & MARKETPLACE THIS WEEKEND
ABINGDON, VA – ‘Round the Mountain: Southwest Virginia’s Artisan Network (RTM) and the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace will host their Autumn Market this Saturday, November 2, 2019 featuring over 15 nationally known artisans from Southwest Virginia, local food and drink, and more.
The Autumn Market is one of four quarterly markets held at the SWVA Cultural Center & Marketplace (formerly Heartwood). The day will feature regionally crafted gifts and fun for the whole family. In addition to shopping, you can also help to support one of the SWVA Cultural Center & Marketplace’s very own. Profits from the day will benefit long-time employee Leigh Campbell, a SWVA Marketplace Associate and librarian. Please come out in support of Leigh, who recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. Leigh is a Washington County native and spends her day telling SWVA visitors and locals about our amazing artisans and 19 county region. She is also a long-time employee of the Washington County Public Libraries.
Shoppers can peruse from over 15 artisans from throughout Southwest Virginia demonstrating their craft and selling handcrafted wares and art. Visitors will have the opportunity to browse through an array of traditional and modern craft including jewelry, pottery, art, apparel, wood carvings, photography, lotions, and more.
In addition, the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace galleries, featuring the high-quality art and craft of over 180 juried artisans from Southwest Virginia, will be open for viewing and shopping.
Purchasing local art, craft and products is more than gifting a one-of-a-kind gift; supporting these artists means helping your neighbors sustain themselves as working artisans and carrying forth a viable creative economy throughout Southwest Virginia.
The ‘Round the Mountain Autumn Artisan Market will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

Every Thursday night and several other nights a week, live music takes the center stage and showcases the traditional and mountain music of the region.
