2023 Fall Jury Acceptance
Artisans representing various mediums will now be featured in
The Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace galleries

ABINGDON, Va. (Friday, October 13, 2023) – ‘Round the Mountain hosted a successful fall jury sessions, in which jurors selected 12 submissions for approval. These artisans will now be eligible to have their work for sale at the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace in Abingdon and online at https://shop.swvaculturalcenter.com.

One artisan was accepted in three separate mediums and two previously juried artisans were accepted in new mediums. This round of artisans in the jury represents a number of mediums, including flintknapping, painting, fiber, woodworking, leatherworking, and photography. The 10 artisans come from five communities across Southwest Virginia, including the Franklin County, Patrick County, Scott County, Washington County, and Wythe County.

The members accepted during the fall 2023 jury session include Tracy EgglestonJaneise Harmon, Katherine JohnsonCrissa LancasterJoel LancasterJason LesterJimmy NealJen OteyJulie Walters SteeleMindy Wegener.

Accepted members were required to have a current ‘Round the Mountain membership and reside in one of the 19 counties of Southwest Virginia. During March, each artisan submitted five individual pieces within each medium and/or technique and present all work as it would be when exhibited in galleries.
