The Clinch flows south alongside Clinch Mountain from near Tazewell to the Tennessee border. Stocked with muskie and walleye, it’s a great fishing destination, with access points from Blackford to the Tennessee line.
Clinch Mountain, which follows the river in an unbroken ridgeline, is a natural pathway for migratory birds, including hawks, which can be observed from the Mendota fire tower in November.
Hikers can enjoy trips to the Channels, an impressive series of sandstone outcroppings, as well as trails to Brumley Mountain, Pinnacle Natural Area Preserve, and Devil’s Loop.
Lakes at Hidden Valley and Laurel Bed offer floating and fishing, while Mountain View Trail boasts a mix of trails for ATV riders.
Don’t miss the Clinch – its unspoiled beauty offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor recreation.
