High Knob Regional Initiative

The High Knob Region Initiative (HKRI) consist of community members, leaders and business owners in the counties of Lee, Scott Wise, and City of Norton. These leaders are working on a plan to develop relationships, engage the community, promote the natural assets, attract visitors to the High Knob Region, increate connectivity to the natural recreation areas, and support tourism business development and growth to the region in a sustainable way. Action teams include; Assets, Community Participation events and Marketing, Capital Improvements, Mapping and Wayfinding, and Tourism Incentives.

A special thanks to Virginia’s Department of Housing and Community Development – Building Collaborative Communities and The Appalachian Regional Commission – POWER for funding the blueprint for future opportunities in the High Knob Region.
